  • From major character deaths to discovering a larger world than their own, Season 6 of The Walking Dead has been a roller coaster ride of emotions and turmoil for Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his group of survivors. And after 15 grueling episodes, all of the built up tension involving the Saviors will come to pay off when we finally meet their ringleader, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

AMC has released the first official image of Negan, toting along his trusty barbed-wire bat Lucille. A larger photo of the two was uploaded to The Walking Dead’s Instagram page as well:

  • We haven’t seen a villain on The Walking Dead who has come close to the sadistic, psychopathic nature of Negan. Not the Governor of Woodbury, the Wolves, or even the cannibals. Fans of The Walking Dead have been anticipating his arrival ever since issue 100 of The Walking Dead was published in 2012. Even series’ lead Andrew Lincoln, who spoke with Entertainment Weekly, is excited for fans to witness the coming of Negan:

“I read the script and I went, ‘This is the greatest entrance ever written.’”

The series has been teasing his introduction for some time now. After last weekend’s nail-biting episode, with the fate of one major character on the line, the season finale preview provided a short clip of the villain as well.
