  • The emotionally charged final season of American Idol has crowned its last star with Trent Harmon taking home the gold.

The three-day-long grand finale included a video message from President Obama, and even a special performance from William Hung, a living meme made famous by the show.

  • Although Idol judge Simon Cowell did imply that something else similar to the show might come along (or already has) it will never be as big or as grand as the original series.

Idol winner Trent Harmon and runner-up La’Porsha Renae were fan favorites throughout the whole season. With Harmon's final perfomance, American Idol has finally come to a close.

Goodbye American Idol, you were interesting and sometimes kind of annoying but we'll miss you nevertheless.
