Dana Carvey's "Church Lady" Returns to SNL

Who can resist interviewing Satan himself?

  • Continuing their political slant for election year, Saturday Night Live opted to bring back Dana Carvey to reprise his Church Lady skit this past weekend, having him interview Republican candidate Donald Trump and Republican drop out (and Lucifer incarnate) Ted Cruz. There are some great moments in this cold open, ranging from Cruz going over to the dark side to Trump insulting demon-Cruz like they're in a playground spat, but one of the best parts is probably the Church Lady calling Cruz out on being "too preachy." The whole skit definitely feels like old school SNL, so check it out if you're nostalgic for that, or just like mocking politicians.
