The fictional YouTube personality Miranda Sings, created by Colleen Ballinger, is blowing up. We had Miranda on our show 3 years ago during her rise to ~fame~ so I guess we are just really ahead of the curve over here at WT.
Since then, Miranda has written a New York Times Bestseller Selp-Helf, toured around the country, and has scored her own Netflix series titled Haters Back Off.
This week, Haters Back Off (named for Miranda's catchphrase) released its first teaser. Check out the video below:
Since her YouTube debut in 2008, Miranda has posted over 500 videos, and has an extremely loyal fan base. Her videos include mock-tutorials satirizing narcissistic YouTube wannabes, covers of popular hit songs, and reaction videos. Miranda embraces the "haters make me famous" motto to get through rude comments left on her YouTube channel, and keeps on 'Sing-ing'. Her signature look consists of bright red lipstick drawn outside of her lips, mismatched clothing and a whole lot of eyebrow expression.
Haters Back Off is the first scripted series from a YouTube personality. Keep an eye out for her Netflix premiere October 14th; it will be interesting to say the least.
