  • Planet Earth was and still is one of the finest documentary television series of all time. It launched the BBC Earth series, including titles like Life. Now, Planet Earth is coming back. The gorgeous cinematography, rich storytelling, and luxurious voice of Sir David Attenborough are coming with it. The last time we saw the series, it got the Aziz Ansari treatment.

The latest trailer for Planet Earth II says it’s time to get pumped. After ten years away, the show is coming back — and coming back closer. The trailer includes close-up shots of a Komodo dragon, flamingos, and an underwater iguana. The shots of the trailer look awe-strikingly beautiful.

What’s different about this Planet Earth II is that this time, the documentary series will be including human-inhabited Earth. Amongst shots of flamingos in the wild and a fox diving head first into snow are human made structures. There’s monkeys running on buildings, monkeys hiding in gardens, and manmade light-strewn trees.
