Apple fans, rejoice! The third generation iPad is here.
“It looks pretty much like the old one,” said tech expert Ben Parr, who joined the conversation via Skype. But, he said, the screen is vastly improved. “I looks really, really, really, quite nice.” The new screen features a 2,048-by-1,536-pixel “retinal” display.
The new iPad will sport a faster 4G wireless connection with AT&T and Verizon (sorry Sprint) and have a 5 megapixel camera. Wifi 16GB versions start at $499, and Wifi+4G start at $629, plus a monthly carrier fee. Pre-orders are already open (though, it crashed a few times on us) and will start shipping March 16th.
