Lynn Peters is a dedicated girlfriend.
After receiving a text message from her boyfriend informing her that his VW Golf 3 had been carjacked in Johannesburg, South Africa, Peters took to her Twitter account to help locate him.
Her boyfriend, who remains unnamed according to the "The Daily Mail" , was shoved into the trunk of his vehicle before he messaged Peters on Saturday. In a plea for help, she tweeted the following:
Her tweet was retweeted several times, and while Peters also contacted the police, private security companies who were made aware of the incident through Twitter tracked the car's movement and live-tweeted its location.
Two hours after the incident was first reported the car was soon located some 150 miles from Johannesburg, the man safe but the two armed assailants having fled the scene on foot.
Peters tweeted that her boyfriend was fine and unharmed, then thanked her followers and others after the ordeal:
In a country where carjacking is unfortunately common, companies like @Afritrack use their feeds to keep citizens informed and alert.
