A car crash in Canada has started to unfold into the most bizarre kidnapping case the internet has ever seen. This story first caught everyone's attention when someone spotted a very strange detail in a breaking news story.
The AP tweeted, "Bizarre buff bust: Canadian Mounties arrest 5 naked people after a 'purposeful collision' with a truck." According to the story, Royal Canadian Mounted Police responded to a crash where a BMW rammed into a pickup truck on purpose.
When the RCMP showed up, all 5 people in the BMW were naked. So, why did a BMW full of 5 naked women crash into a truck? Well, buckle up. According to the RCMP, the BMW arrived at a family's home in Leduc County around 9:30 am. The 5 people in the BMW forced the couple and their 6 month old baby into the car. The man was forced into the trunk.
RCMP believes that this was a targeted incident, and that the kidnappers knew the couple.
The man escaped from the truck, and so did the woman and child moments later. A passerby helped the couple into his pick-up truck, when it was rammed from behind by the BMW
When the police arrived, they arrested 5 women, all completely naked. 4 were taken to the hospital for medical treatment, and two were youths who were released without charges.
What? This sounds like a scene from the new season of Fargo.
So, why were they naked?
As you can see, it's November in Alberta, Canada, and there's already snow on the ground. According to AP, officials believed drugs or alcohol might have been a factor.
... in what?
Edmonton-based reporter Jonny Wakefield tweets, "SO I got off the phone with RCMP. Spokeswoman did not know whether the assailants were naked at the time of the kidnapping (9:30 a.m.) or whether they got naked between then and the crash (9:47 a.m.)"
I mean, it's the perfect disguise. It's Canada so everyone will be politely turning their head away.
