Solar. Freakin’. Roadways.

Do not underestimate the power of the internet. Seriously, don’t do it.

After the initial IndieGogo campaign video went up, caught traction on Tumblr, but failed to generate a significant amount of donations to the actual campaign…the makers of Solar Roadways tried a different approach. Thus, we have Solar FREAKIN’ Roadways!

If this video hasn’t convinced you to donate to their crowdfunding campaign, I don’t know what will. I mean, how cool would Solar FREAKIN’ Roadways? No more potholes AND we get power from the streets? Uhm, yes please.

Also, for those in places that actually experience winter (I’m from California, but I hear this mythical season is real) you won’t have to plow through your streets any longer! These smart panels are designed to stay above 32 degrees F, which means it wouldn’t be cold enough of snow to actually freeze on top of these panels!
