Powerpuff Girls Set To Return in 2016

Any PPG fans out there?! Well, you’re in luck because Cartoon Network just announced that Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup are making their way back to your TV set in 2016! For any younger readers out there, Powerpuff Girls was a series that first aired in 1998 on Cartoon Network. It was a girl promoting girl power via it’s main characters: Blossom, Buttercup, and Bubbles. Three sisters created by Professor Utonium through a mixture of sugar, spice, and the mysterious Chemical X!

The show was so popular that Cartoon Network Japan even developed an anime version of the series called Powerpuff Girls Z.

Earlier this year, Cartoon Network actually released a PPG special featuring Ringo Starr of The Beatles! Ringo wrote a song called “I Wish I Was A Powerpuff Girl” for all of the special’s promotional ads and voice the character of Fibonacci Sequins in the special!
