Comedians James Franco and Seth Rogen are getting nothing but the sound of crickets instead of laughs in North Korea for their new action-comedy flick, “The Interview.” The movie follows host Dave Skylark (James Franco) and producer Aaron Rapoport (Seth Rogen) on the celebrity TV show “Skylark Tonight,” which is beloved by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un (Randall Park).

Skylark and Rapoport are invited to North Korea to interview the leader, but plans change when the C.I.A. puts them on a mission to assassinate Jong-un. CIA agent Lacey (Lizzy Caplan) debriefs the duo and gives Mission Impossible-type gadgets to help them on their assignment. Of course, Franco and Rogen had to add a few jokes about Jong-un speaking Dolphin and his bathroom “duties.”

The duo, who has starred in countless movies together including “This Is the End” and “Pineapple Express,” are used to getting laughs, but one person who doesn’t find this movie’s topic funny is the REAL Kim Jong-un.

Kim Myong-chol, executive director of The Centre for North Korea-US Peace and an unofficial spokesman for Pyongyang, condemned the film.

“There is a special irony in this storyline as it shows the desperation of the US government and American society,” Myong-chol said, in an interview with The Telegraph.

The unofficial spokesman continued to speak negatively about the film, as he pointed out that the comedy is too realistic with actual U.S. foreign policy.

“A film about the assassination of a foreign leader mirrors what the US has done in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Ukraine… And let us not forget who killed [President John F.] Kennedy – Americans… In fact, President [Barack] Obama should be careful in case the US military wants to kill him as well,” Myong-chol said.

Rogen looked at the situation optimistically, showing his excitement that Jong-un would most likely be watching his film.
