Real drama has arrived on the set of Real Housewives of Atlanta. Apollo Nida the husband of “Real Housewife” Phaedra Parks, has been sentenced to “8 years in federal prison for cashing stolen checks and laundering more than $2.3 mil through phony bank accounts,” according to TMZ.

The scandal first broke in January, when the Secret Service’s Counterfeit and U.S. Treasury Check Squad realized that Nida was tapping into company databases using fake information and stealing people’s identities. With stolen U.S. Treasury checks and stolen retirement checks, Nida was able to cash in to funds for his exuberant lifestyle.

For these illegalities, Nida could have been charged with 30 years in prison, but because of his “cooperation” with the law, he has gotten off with less than a third of that sentence.

    Cheers to the justice system?
