Willie Nelson cancelled a charity concert in Charlotte, North Carolina for the second time yesterday,
The concert was part of a festival meant to raise money for an indebted senior center. It was expected to raise over $100,000, but instead will end up costing them the non-refundable $25,000 they spent on venues and to advertise, unless they can find a replacement.
Nelson cancelled the concert last September, when it was first scheduled, due to a shoulder injury. They planned to reschedule on August 22nd, but Nelson’s staff told the organizers that he would not be able to attend due to scheduling conflicts, and it would not be made up.
The center is still hopeful that the community, or perhaps other stars, will rally around the cause and make the concert a success.
What do you think? Are concert cancellations to be expected, or is this unacceptable star behavior? Leave your opinion in the comments!
