A Cornish beach has become a treasure trove of Legos. 17 years ago, a container ship called the Tokio Express was overtaken by a giant wave, losing a container full of 4.8 MILLION Lego pieces, according to the BBC. The pieces have been washing up on the beaches of Cornwall ever since.
The pieces have become somewhat of a collectors item, and ironically feature many sea-themed pieces like seaweed, flippers and breathing tanks. High value has been placed on the rarer items, like octopi and dragons. Kids even collect and sell some of the pieces.
Tracey Williams has become a unique expert on the subject, finding thousands of pieces while combing the beach for trash. She has found many rare pieces, and uses them to create lovely photography which she puts on her Facebook page, Legos Lost at Sea.

We think this would make for the coolest scavenger hunt ever, but we definitely wouldn’t go to this beach barefoot.
