The following is an excerpt from Weddings, Deaths, and Time Jumps: The 11 Most Gif-able Moments From the True Blood Finale

After seven seasons of ups and downs and wtfs, tonight’s finale was a relatively quiet and peaceful ending that was both happy and sad, and was filled with a whole bunch of moments that really drove home the fact that something is going to be missing every Sunday night for the rest of our lives. The following is an excerpt from ‘True Blood’ offers poignant, wacky finale

The finale often seemed like the Sookie Stackhouse Self-Help Hour. In deciding her future, Sookie drew strength from her departed grandmother’s advice and the town minister’s guidance.

Bill helped arrange a rushed wedding for vampire Jessica to human Hoyt. Andy presided at that small wedding and affirmed the union by saying, “Love is love, plain and simple.”

Jason Stackhouse, Sookie’s wild brother, on wedding day gave Hoyt some marvelously garbled advice. “We’ve got to live every day like it’s our last,” Jason said. “If we do that, it puts everything in prescription for us.”

The finale was called “Thank You.” The minister thanked Sookie for what she had done for the town.
