Parallax photography is nothing new. In fact, you’ve probably seen it hundreds of times in film and television, particularly in documentaries. It happens when the elements of a still photo are separated onto different layers in Photoshop, then moved around to create the effect that the elements in the photo are actually moving.
Sawyer Hartman’s experiments with parallax photography, though, are quite stunning. See what he accomplishes with a camera, a computer, a couple of subjects….oh, and a tiger.
