3 years after the completion of his “Animator vs. Animated” trilogy of shorts, Alan Becker has returned with the fourth edition of the popular series, in which a cartoon stick figure gradually takes over his creator’s computer.
The new film – by far the longest of the series at a robust 13.5 minutes – was funded via Kickstarter, where Becker raised over $110,000 last August.
It also includes, for the first time, live action shots of the Animator responding to and joining the fight against the stick figures himself.

The original “Animator vs. Animation” was released way back in 2006, and created entirely within Adobe Flash by a then-17-year-old Becker. A sequel followed, expanding the scope of the stick figure’s world significantly.
