It kind of made sense for the Cal Bears to go for it in this situation. They were down 31-2 to the USC Trojans at the time, and you have to think they spent at least a little time in practice working on this play.
Okay…I just watched it again. No, no they definitely didn’t practice this. Cal punter Cole Leininger receives the snap, pretends to be a goose for about half a second, then promptly throws the ball into the ground.
I know I couldn’t do any better, but I’m not on a football team. This is amazing and teams should be forced to have their punters attempt a pass on every fourth down.
