When I was in 9th grade, doing lip syncs in my “Beginning Drama” class, I longed to do more thought-provoking, insightful comedy like — from my perspective — what was being done by David Letterman and Conan O’Brien on late night television.

Little did I know that lip synching would be the late night comedy of the 21st century. Will Ferrell, Kevin Hart and Jimmy Fallon duked it out “Beginning Drama” style on last night’s post-Super Bowl Tonight Show live from Arizona. Here’s what they performed:

Will Ferrell: Beyoncé’s “Drunk in Love” & “Let It Go,” as performed by Adele Dazeem.

Jimmy Fallon: “Since U Been Gone” by Kelly Clarkson & “(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life,” performed by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes from the soundtrack to Dirty Dancing (featuring a special appearance by Drew Barrymore).

Kevin Hart: John Legend’s “All of Me” & Katy Perry’s “Roar”

As usual, nobody was declared a winner, though I’m going to say that Ferrell revived the “Let It Go” trend for just a few minutes to pull off the victory. Kevin Hart tried for a comeback with “Roar,” but he tossed the ball when he should have run it in from the one-yard line.
