  • Finally! A Tomorrowland movie! Disney executives finally got sick of answering the question “so which movie is this part of the park about?” and yet again shoehorned a known concept onto the silver screen.

George Clooney, a successful young working actress named Britt Robertson and my two biggest character-actor comedy crushes Judy Greer and Kathryn Hahn spearhead the cast. But the most exciting part of the whole ordeal is that it’s Brad Bird’s first live-action movie for Disney.

The futuristic city in the trailer, which I imagine will be referred to as “Tomorrowland,” instead of just whatever the name of that city had always been, seems to have buildings as tall as the ones in present-day Dubai (where he shot Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol), so at least Brad Bird will be in his element, visually.

Who is Brad Bird? Brad Bird has already made you cry, in a good way, when he directed The Incredibles, The Iron Giant and Ratatouille.

He’s made you cry in a bad way when he introduced the world to “The Bart Man.” But to make up for it he went on to direct that episode of the Simpsons where Krusty reunites with his estranged father. So I think we’re in good hands.

I, for one, will watch the sh*t out of this movie for Brad Bird alone. Can’t wait to find out what it’s about.
