It’s been a week since the Internet was consumed in arguments of “White & Gold” or “Back & Blue.” But of all the memes, jokes, and spoofs inspired by #TheDress, nothing is as powerful as this domestic violence ad from South Africa’s Salvation Army.
The simple message asks, “Why is it so hard to see black and blue?”
Underneath, the PSA continues, “The only illusion is if you think it was her choice. One in 6 women are victims of abuse. Stop abuse against women.”
But is this ad a powerful and timely message about a worldwide scourge, or a cheap attempt at cashing in on the Internet’s fickle obsessions? Let us know what you think!
