Netflix made it official yesterday — with a little help from John Stamos. Full House, the classic 90’s comedy, is coming back! Netflix has ordered 13 episodes of Fuller House. The show will focus on D.J. Tanner, the oldest of the original daughters played by Candace Cameron-Bure. Pregnant and recently widowed, D.J. asks younger sister Stephenia (Jodie Sweetin) and best friend Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber) to move in with her.
As John Stamos said when he announced the news on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday night, “It’s sort of a role reversal, we’re turning the house over to her.”
You can watch his announcement below.
According to Netflix, “discussions with Full House stars Bob Saget, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Dave Coulier and Lori Loughlin regarding guest appearances in Fuller House are ongoing.”
Full House aired from 1987 to 1995, but best friends D.J. and Kimmy look ready to pick up right where they left off.
Fuller House is set to premiere in 2016.
