Friday marked the 70th anniversary of VE Day — when allied forces finally defeated the Nazis in the second world war. Russia celebrated with a massive military parade, as they so often do. But one Russian aquarium celebrated with something extra special: dressing up seals in soldier outfits.

The Baikal Seal Aquarium has been training two patriotic seals, Winnie the Pooh and Laska, in preparation for VE Day celebrations. The two seals wear silly hats, spin around in formation, and shoot toy guns. Apparently getting the seals to wear the hats was the hardest part of the show. (Does that mean seals take naturally to shooting guns? That’s… interesting information to have.)
