Zerg Attack in CGI “Starcraft” Short Film “The Rush”

In the deadly far-future universe of Starcraft, if the hyper-advanced Protoss don’t get you, the terrifying Zerg will. This live-action short from Freddie Wong and the folks at RocketJump showcases the horror in Blizzard Entertainment’s sci-fi strategy video game series. What happens what a remote Terran (aka human) colony comes under attack by a numberless alien swarm? Does the term “Zerg rush” mean anything to you?

Featuring live actors and some impressive CGI, “The Rush” is a slice-of-life glimpse into the ultra-violent universe Blizzard has been creating and refining for more than a decade. We’re also getting a Star Wars vibe from the young boy playing on a desert planet. Spoilers: The kid doesn’t end up using the Force.
