Hey, remember when we were kids and we watched “The Lion King” and Mufasa died and we’ll NEVER BE OVER IT EVER? Those were the good times, man.

Don’t get me wrong, I do love the new era of Disney animated movies – I adored “Up” and “Wall-E” and “Brave,” and I know “Inside Out” is probably going to change my life once I get around to seeing it – but there’s still nothing quite like that golden age of the 1990s, with films like “Beauty and the Beast,” “Aladdin” and “The Little Mermaid.” Maybe it’s just the 90s nostalgia kicking in, but my generation grew up with some truly remarkable filmmaking.

This amazing supercut makes my point better than I can. Professional editor Steven Chamberlain (@indrancole) creates movie trailers for a living, but he put together this video as an exercise and created something that captures how epic these films seemed to us when we were kids. It features Disney’s 2D animated films from 1986’s “The Great Mouse Detective” to 2002’s “Treasure Planet” — which, okay, that last one was all kinds of weird, but it still had its moments.
