Hailee Steinfeld Releases First Ever Single “Love Myself”

Actor Hailee Steinfeld, who was nominated for an Oscar at 14, is now breaking into the music industry. Today, Steinfeld released her self love anthem aptly titled “Love Myself.” Of course, Hailee’s venture into music is nothing but random. The actress was the breakout young Barden Bella of the hit movie “Pitch Perfect 2.” Steinfeld announced her record deal with Republic Records just a few weeks after “Pitch Perfect 2” was released, she didn’t leave her fans with nothing to listen to these past few months though.

Notably missing from the “Pitch Perfect 2” soundtrack was a Hailee only version of the movie’s original song “Flashlight” – written by Sia, Sam Smith, and the first movie’s director, Jason Moore. So, Hailee teamed up with Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy to bring fans of hers and the movie an acoustic rendition of the song.

Even more recently, she and Shawn Mendes released this acoustic, duet version of Shawn’s song “Stitches.” All this along with doing a nationwide radio, promotional tour. So Steinfeld definitely hasn’t been slacking when it comes to letting the world know about her journey into music.Who knows, maybe we’ll see her join good friend Taylor Swift at an upcoming show to perform her very first single.

We love the song. We think it’s an awesome message for a young celebrity to be spreading to her even younger fans. It’s not your typical “you can do it!” song, it’s a song specifically about putting yourself first, and finding love for who you are when it’s just you and no one else. We’re definitely excited to see where Hailee’s music career leads her.
