His Name is Deez Nuts and He’s Running for President

I can’t tell if it’s hilarious or depressing that a presidential candidate called Deez Nuts is actually polling against Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton and the news has been a top trend for much of the day. At least young people are engaging in the democratic process?

A new Public Policy Polling poll shows that 9 percent of North Carolina voters are supporting independent candidate Deez Nuts over Clinton or Trump in the 2016 presidential election.

Nuts, who announced his campaign last month, is currently in fourth place behind “Not Sure” in North Carolina. Recent PPP polls showed he had 8 percent of the vote in Minnesota and 7 percent in Iowa.

The Daily Beast points out that Deez Nuts doesn’t really exist and the whole thing is just a brilliant prank from 15-year-old Brady Olson from Iowa, but that’s beside the point. There are gonads jokes to be made and the internet is ON IT.
