Cobra and Python Fight to the Death

It’s no “Sharktopus vs Pteracuda,” but this video of a python fighting a cobra is enough to freak me out.

At Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, a bystander caught this fight to the death between a reticulated python and a king cobra.

 

The snakes wrestled each other for nearly 30 minutes, the python constricting around the cobra’s head as the cobra tried to bite. Eventually the cobra escaped and fled into the bushes.

It looks like the python was bitten, so its chances of survival are low and it looks like the cobra won this round. The university warned its students, “Please be careful when you take the sidewalk near to bushes. Night researchers and night runners, please be extra vigilant.”
