Competitive eater and fitness guru Furious Pete was overjoyed at the latest test results this week in his second battle against testicular cancer.

“It’s good news!” he told his viewers, in tears and grinning broadly as he sat in his car after the appointment.

Pete went in for a round of blood tests and learned that his human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) levels had dropped to below one, which is a normal level. Rising hCG levels are a main indicator of testicular cancer, and in July just before he was diagnosed, they were higher than 11.

“I’m so fucking happy right now!” he said. “It doesn’t mean I’m cured, it doesn’t mean that come November I’m 100% okay. But it’s the first fucking good piece of news I’ve got from all of this so far.

“This is so awesome! I love you all. And fuck cancer. Fuck it.”

Pete had battled testicular cancer in the past and thought he’d beat it, but in August he had to make the difficult announcement that his cancer had returned.

“I know I’m gonna beat it, I know I’m gonna kill it, but it sucks,” he said in an emotional video. “It just sucks.”

He explained why he wanted to document his whole treatment experience – because he couldn’t find any first-hand accounts of dealing with cancer, and wanted to at least provide help for others during his journey.

“I won’t lie, I’m scared. But I got this. We got this.”
