  • “Muzzled the Musical” stars Mary Kate Wiles and Maxwell Glick told us their best behind-the-scenes stories and weighed in on the new YouTube Red subscription service on this week’s What’s Trending Podcast.

As usual, host Hayley Hoover started out with the biggest trends of the last week, including New York Times Magazine asking readers if they could kill Baby Hitler. Spoiler: Max and Mary Kate would totally kill him. “If there’s one thing in all of human history that we might want to change, I dunno, it might be the Holocaust,” Mary Kate said.

They spoke at length about the new fantasy web series “Muzzled the Musical,” including what it was like to work with their “Lizzie Bennet Diaries” co-star Ashley Clements again, the long complicated process of getting the show made, and the best and worst parts of their punk-rock costumes.

  • “It has nine parts to it,” Mary Kate said of her fishnets outfit, “which is kind of funny, because if you haven’t seen it, it’s kind of skimpy. I timed myself, and it took me six and a half minutes to get into costume. […] We had one scene in particular we shot in January and we were shooting this scene outside at midnight, and I was freezing.”

Max had some unique insight into the controversial YouTube Red service, as he’s been cast in a recurring role on the Fine Brothers’ original series “Sing It” airing on the service sometime next year.

“It’s really interesting to see what happens. I think if the original programming is good and it’s really good quality, then it will be worth it. Like your Netflix originals and your Hulu originals – that’s the idea. We’ll see.”
