  • We rarely have to imagine what classic movies would be like if they were released today, since everything is being remade faster than you can yell “Who ya gonna call?” But every so often, we get an original film, or, more likely, an adaptation of an existing property, and you’ve got to wonder what the fancier ones would look like if we had less advanced filmmaking technology like we did in oh, say, 1992.

Fortunately, New York Magazine has heard our desperate cries and cut a trailer version of what they think The Hunger Games would look like had it come out that year (and if Jennifer Lawrence had somehow miraculously been a teenager then AND now, apparently). Personally, I think it even looks too advanced for the ’90s, but I’m mostly busy reeling from that full screen display. Why did we ever think that was a good idea, humanity? You can hardly see anything!

Oh well. Now we move forward. On to better and bigger things. Or, you know, a Memento remake. (Get it together, Hollywood!)
