Nothing will make you feel nostalgic and super old more than realizing how freaking young Daniel Radcliffe was when the Harry Potter films just got started.
The internet has rediscovered this screen test from Radcliffe, who was only 11 when “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” came out. The video shows him running through two scenes from “Harry Potter” – the first, where Hagrid shows him a dragon egg, and the second where he reacts to overhearing that Sirius Black may have betrayed his parents to Voldemort. Finally, he tries on a few options for Harry’s now-iconic round glasses.
Seeing screen tests like this is always interesting, especially for an eight-film franchise that the producers knew would take their lead star from childhood to near-adulthood if it was successful. They had to know right from the beginning that Radcliffe could make the transition from childish joy and wonder to intense grief and anger – and you can see he did a pretty good job.
