  • As a person who frequently justifies going to Starbucks because it’s several blocks away and walking there and back will burn off the extra calories, I’m pretty grumpy with AsapSCIENCE right now.

Science nerds with their “facts” and “research,” ruining everything.

In their latest video, AsapSCIENCE makes a pretty inarguable case for why changing your diet is more important than exercising if you want to lose weight. Both things are important, of course, but a strategy of just doing a few extra minutes of exercise every time you indulge in a fatty or sugary treat probably isn’t going to work.

After all, you have to run for 20 minutes to burn 200 calories (or a bunch of other creative activities, as AsapSCIENCE points out in this video), and  that’s quickly cancelled out by one candy bar or a couple of cans of soda. One should also take a look at the nutritional content of what they’re eating. It might have a lot of calories, but does it have little sugar and sodium content than that fitness bar you’re eyeing?

Our host Paula Rhodes has more – including her own really really really persuasive argument about why you should never eat salad.

If you’re not an exercise or diet person, there are also other ways you can lose weight such as body contouring, CoolSculpting, and more. Visit sites like https://spainthecitydallas.com/procedure/sculptra-in-dallas/ for other treatments you may look into.
