  • This new bedding set from Target is blue and has sharks on it – but here’s the thing. They don’t specify if it’s for a boy or a girl.

How are boys and girls going to learn what boys like and girls like if Target doesn’t tell them?!? What is this world coming to.

Following on from Target’s recent decision to get rid of “boy” and “girl” signs in their toy aisle, the department store is now taking on bedtime with a new line of gender-neutral bedding called Pillowfort, coming out in a few weeks.

The line is full of more neutral colors like orange, yellow and green, and features patterns that all kids can be interested regardless of gender, like animals, trees, bicycles and astronauts.

Julie Guggemos, Target’s senior vice president of design and product development, had this to say about Target’s current selection:

“It was an aisle of pink, fairy princesses, ponies and flowers. And for the boys it was rockets and dinosaurs. Well, you know what? Girls like rockets and basketball. And boys like ponies. Who are we to say what a child’s individual expression is? We really wanted to develop a collection that would be universal.”

How are your crazy conservative relatives responding to this news? Our host Anna Lore has some of the best examples:
