EXCLUSIVE: What Happens When Web Stars Team Up to Help the Red Cross?

Big things can happen when you get some of your favorite social media stars together in one room – though there’s going to be some goofing off involved.

Just over a week ago, What’s Trending launched the #2Steps2Minutes campaign with the American Red Cross, iHeart Media, the Charity Network and the Reveal Project to help educate people about fire safety.

“Fire experts agree that people might have as little as two minutes to escape a burning home before it is too late to get out,” Shira says in our latest campaign video. “And actually 82% of families have not even practiced home fire drills. We’re hoping to change that. And of course, because I have to get the exclusive, we hung out behind the scenes of the shoot.”

Internet stars like Glozell Green, Bart Baker, Destorm Power and Trisha Hershberger (just to name a few) got a rare chance to catch up with each other on set, and of course there were plenty of bloopers and unexpected moments, like Frankie Grande taking his shirt off. (Maybe we should have expected that, actually.)

“We have a lot of fun here at What’s Trending, but it’s great to use our platform to support important issues like this,” Shira says.
