This is probably what musical numbers look like to the secondary characters.

  • Any time there’s a show or movie about students bursting into choreographed song-and-dance numbers – “High School Musical,” “Glee,” whatever – I like to imagine that the music is only happening in the main characters’ heads and all the students not involved in the central story are just off camera, staring at them and whispering “Why do they keep doing that?”

So I’m enjoying this quick video from Mix Minus about “Summer Nights” from the original movie “Grease” with John Travolta and his gang of T-Birds dancing around by the football field, but without the music, so you just hear random grunting and mumbling and the noisy creaks of the bleachers.

The junior varsity football team is probably watching from the field like “the fuck?”
