The Hollywood Reporter has just confirmed Alison Vikander will be playing Lara Croft in the latest film adaptation of the gaming series!
Vikander, who won an academy award for best supporting actress in “The Danish Girl,” will be playing Croft before she became the Tomb Raider of later years.
The film falls in line with the recent controversial reboot of Lara Croft which successfully reinvigorated a dying game series. Gone was the buxom Lara Croft, and in came the new relatable character who managed to recapture fan’s attention.

Previously, Angelina Jolie had played Lara Croft in two films, the second of which fell flat with audiences.
Hopefully, Vikander will reinvigorate the franchise the same way her fellow Croft did.
