This week we have a “politicians are bad at the internet” story AND a “family values candidates are probably into porn” story all at the same time.

Conservative candidate Mike Webb is running for Congress in Arlington, Virginia, and he was trying to make a point about computer viruses and political conspiracies or something when he posted a screenshot of his Yahoo! browser to Facebook.

Unfortunately, he forgot to close some of the other tabs he had open in his browser, including ones titled “Ivone Sexy Amateur” and “Layla Rivera Tight Booty,” which are porn selections you can find on Redtube and Pornhub.

Despite the fact that his followers were having a field day with the post and making it go viral, he neglected to take it down for more than six hours.

Later he posted a rambling explanation that he “wanted to test the suggestion” that some evil political operative was putting booby trap viruses in porn websites in the “one in a gazillion chance” that candidates would stop by to look at porn, which seems hilariously nonsensical on several fronts.

That explanation was taken down, and replaced it with another long rambly post including the following:

”Lessons affirmed today include that we do expect our leaders to be examples of our highest ideals, but also, as we have seen for almost a year in non-traditional length posts, people are interested and motivated by truth and substance, not flash or even scandal.”

He went on to promote how much his Facebook and Twitter audience grew over the past 24 hours. Silver linings and all that.
