  • Pokémon GO, AKA the end of life as we know it, has arrived in Australia, New Zealand, and Japan, with a global release expected in the next few days. The game is a part of Pokémon’s 20th anniversary, and is widely expected to quickly become one of the highest-grossing mobile games ever.

In case you’re not already a Pokémaniac, the trailer for the game is above. Pokémon GO is an augmented reality game in which players catch Pokémon by going out into the real world. The game is developed by Niantic, the people behind Ingress, arguably the biggest augmented reality game before GO.

Pokémon GO is free-to-play but features micro-transactions, like buying Pokéballs to catch Pokémon with. Nintendo also plans to offer a $34.99 peripheral called the Pokémon Go Plus, a wristwatch which vibrates whenever Pokémon are near. The device is available for preorder at GameStop and is expected to be released on July 31.
