M.Night Shyamalan’s New Movie Actually Looks Pretty Freaking Awesome

No one ever thought these words would ever be written again: That new M. Night Shyamalan movie looks pretty good!

Split, starring James McAvoy and Haley Lu Richardson, is the tale of a serial killer with 23 perfectly split personalities kidnapping a group of young women and terrorizing them. Now, the film does rely on some pretty old psychology tropes (not as bad as Lucy, but still pretty bad) but despite that it actually looks kind of amazing. From the trailer alone there’s some pretty stellar performances from Richardson and McAvoy.

Here’s hoping we won’t be watching Richardson running from the wind or that the plot twist is that McAvoy is actually sane and imitating the personalities to seem crazy.

We’re not going to hold our breath, but it’s definitely the most intriguing thing to hit since ‘Identity.’
