  • The 2016 Teen Choice Awards took place on July 31st at The Forum in Inglewood, California. The lineup of winners included the cast of Fuller House, Pretty Little Liars, Maddie Ziegler, Justin Bieber, Harry Styles, Kendall Jenner, and many more.

However, arguably the biggest honor of the night was to receive the surfboard for the first ever Teen Choice Decade Award… and who better to reward than the man, the myth, the legend, Justin Timberlake himself.

Kobe Bryant, former Lakers basketball player, announced Timberlake’s big win. If anyone in the arena or watching from home doubted this star’s worthiness for the title, they were definitely reminded just how remarkable JT is. Before his acceptance speech, a video showcasing Timberlake’s work from 2006 to 2016 was shown & we all were in awe of how much he has contributed to the world of entertainment.

Oh, and don’t forget Justin Timberlake is also a master of public speaking, particularly of the inspirational variety. Of course. Why wouldn’t he be perfect at that, too? (And look pretty darn good at the same time…)

  • Some key takeaways of Timberlake’s speech included motivational points like how “you and your choices matter”. He included reflections of lessons learned from Muhammad Ali such as “arrive early and stay late because that’s how you become a champion”, “don’t count the days, make the days count”. And finally, he concluded with a message to the teens saying “go on and become the greatest generation yet”.
