  • My name is Eddie Oliver Smith and I’m a 20-year-old YouTuber from Chicago. I went viral last year after getting bullied online for re-creating a Lady Gaga concert in a local theater. Instead of taking the hate to heart, I set out on a journey to spread peace, love, and positivity. What’s the best way to do it? Write a lifestyle guidebook about my experience.

  • With a backpack full of books and a few friends’ couches to sleep on, I took my LGBT guidebook titled A Guidebook To Self(i.e.) Love to Los Angeles to met up with other LGBT YouTubers who inspired me (like RJ Aguiar and Cole Ledford) to share my book and story. I found that so many people related to the story and I was not in the battle alone.

  • Touching on everything from coming out to relationships, battles with self-esteem to life’s ups and downs, my Self(i.e.) Love is an archive of expression and direction—that 2 A.M. advice you’d get from your best friend and/or the tough-love advice you’d get from a close family member.

No matter what life throws at you, no matter how tough it gets, who you want to love or who you want to be, this book gives you a sense of hope and understanding that there is so much more that comes out of those painful experiences. Coming out is hard. Break-ups suck. Comparing ourselves to others is not good.

Written for everyone, this book of life lessons might just make your journey to self-acceptance a little easier. I really hope you can join the journey and support my Kickstarter campaign going until August 20th and learn to give yourself a chance at self(i.e.) love today.
