  • The Olympics may have ended in Rio, but Japan has already started that sweet 2020 hype!

Changing from one city to the next usually involves a pretty elaborate ceremony and that hasn’t changed. An pretty sick video/animation previewed what was going to be happening at the 2020 Japan Olympic Games and it included Japan’s rich anime and video game history.

A red ball was thrown from one athlete to another before being handed to Mario of Mario Bros fame, who was then ‘transported’ to the Rio stage via the famous green pipe and turned out to be Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

Abe shed himself of the Mario costume before tipping the famous red hat to the crowd. Talk about an entrance!
