Ariana Grande Advised, “No Pastry Licking” at the VMAs

The moment we’ve all (okay, some of us) have been waiting for has arrived — this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, which already promise to be full of glamor and drama as superstars like Beyonce, Rihanna, Kanye & Kim, and Nicki Minaj strut their stuff on the white carpet.

The show hasn’t even officially started yet, and already we have one of our internet memes for the night: Ariana Grande in a midriff-baring shoulder-ruffles ensemble and her classic high ponytail, with varying degrees of success among critics.

But pre-show broadcaster Charlamagne Tha God couldn’t resist digging up that old “Donutgate” story from over a year ago, when Ariana was caught on camera licking a donut in a donut shop and declaring “I hate America,” forcing her to give a string of awkward apologies.

Overall Ariana handled it as well as she could have, but that didn’t stop a bit of internet schadenfreude.

Buckle in, everyone, it’s going to be a long night.
