  • Coyote Peterson is quickly cementing himself as the Steve Irwin of YouTube!

His latest series, Beyond the Tide, intends to explore the ocean and bring the audience “closer than ever to its most fascinating creatures.” This episode is no exception, as Peterson and wildlife expert Aron Sanchez locate a giant black sea slug.

The slug is the largest on the planet and comes up in tide pools for the purpose of laying their eggs. They grow up to three feet in length, and yet despite their enormity, Peterson found it difficult to locate the slug.

Thankfully, Sanchez spotted a huge specimen which Peterson proudly held up for the camera. The slugs are not toxic, and have no major natural predators. According to Peterson, they are “as primordial as it gets.”

    We couldn’t agree more.
