When Ann Coulter isn’t literally celebrating people’s deaths on Twitter, she’s finding other ways to be a gross, trashy person. That’s what made her appearance on the Comedy Central Roast of Rob Lowe so enjoyable. It’s like that scene in Beauty and the Beast when (spoilers for a movie old enough to rent a car) Gaston tries to kill the Beast but ends up falling into a ravine: the more she goes on the attack, the harder she falls.
Comedy Central isn’t making the majority of the roast legally available online without a cable login. So let’s watch the 19 seconds of Ann Coulter’s appearance that some producer deemed the most clip-worthy:

Yikes. If darkness is the absence of light, and silence is the absence of laughter, the response to that “joke” was a blacker hole than the one where Ann Coulter’s heart’s supposed to be.
Did some of the jokes toe a line? Sure. Jimmy Carr told her to kill herself. Pete Davidson called her a “c*nt.” One of Jeff Ross’s punchlines was just the word “bitch.” But if there’s anyone who deserves line-crossing, it’s Ann Coulter. Seriously, the arrogance it takes to go into a place like that, reject the jokes that professionals write (“Nah, I’m just as good at this as people who’ve devoted their entire lives to comedy”), and spend half her speaking slot plugging her sh*tty, racist book, is borderline impressive. Borderline. It’s not actually impressive. It’s garbage.
