  • The Ohio State University is famous for many reasons: demanding that you call it “The” Ohio State University, being the nation’s most-attended school, that weird mystery about the girl at the football game who may have been caught cheating on her boyfriend. This particular story DWARFS ALL OTHER OSU STORIES. Rewrite the history books, folks, because we’ve got a legend on our hands.

Vinny Forte is just a regular dude in a giant lecture hall. But this past week, he became engraved in the minds of millions for his phenomenal paper-throwing skills. Here’s the tweet that made him famous, getting retweeted over 100,000 times:

  • Source: twitter.com / Via: twitter.com

  • Like most viral fame, though, there’s a catch: the original tweeter, Rachel Brown, got his name wrong. (It’s Vinny, not Benny.) Vinny doesn’t seem to be especially interested in being famous. His Twitter account is protected, and he hasn’t responded to BuzzFeed’s request for an interview.

This story has it all: an awesome display of skill, a victory for the common people who don’t have to study for a quiz now, and even a bad pun. According to the Sporting News, the professor of the class does the whole paper ball-throwing thing to make a point about acid-base chemistry. The paper ball represents a proton, and when he gives it to a student, he says the classic joke, “I just made an acid of myself.” UUUUGGGGGHHHHHH.
