  • All of these high-school students just keep tugging at my heart strings. If they’re not planning super cute homecoming proposals, they’re doing what any other 16-year-olds would do… they’re creating apps. Duh!

Well, that’s exactly what Natalie Hampton did. According to Mashable, now a junior in high school, Hampton has created an app called Sit With Us, aimed towards students who would otherwise have difficulty finding a place and people to sit with during lunch.

Having spent her entire seventh grade year eating lunch alone, Hampton was inspired to help her peers. In an interview with Audie Cornish on NPR’s “All Things Considered,” Hampton further explained that she hopes the app will prevent students from being publicly rejected and bullied as she was once before.
