  • Paul Ryan has shied away from publicly endorsing Donald Trump (and diversity). But on Fox News this week, he said he voted for an “all Republican” ballot. That, of course, includes Donald Trump. But Ryan refused to come out and say that he was voting for Trump.

In doing so, Ryan sparked a Twitter moment. The speaker’s inability to be straightforward about his vote leaves a lot to be desired for Trump. Ryan will also not be campaigning with Trump, instead focusing on close Congressional races. Here’s Twitter’s reaction to Ryan’s vote:

  • If Ryan can keep his job as Speaker of the House, he is perhaps the best option the Republicans have in 2020. For that reason, he could be avoiding the name of Trump like Ron Weasley avoids the name “Voldemort.” Ryan is also like Weasley in that he’s the least necessary character. plus, he weirdly got the “girl” (in this case, the girl is the Speaker of the House position).
