  • It’s official. The San Diego Chargers are moving to Los Angeles.

Before they can leave San Diego, however, NFL rules state that the players must be ‘sworn in’ to their new city. What better man to welcome the team than Jimmy Kimmel himself?

On Tuesday night, Kimmel hosted Los Angeles Chargers Philip Rivers and Joey Bosa for what turned out to be a mildly uncomfortable (but still funny) segment on his show. Kimmel had the players each place their left hand on a pair of yoga pants and “solemnly swear to play football in the great city of Los Angeles,” and “try to be better than the Rams” (which shouldn’t be that hard).

  • Naturally, the pair was a bit reserved, but Kimmel continued on with his LA oath that included drinking $7 juices everyday, taking selfies, and doing everything in their power to “marry and eventually divorce a Kardashian.”

  • For all my Rivers fan out there, don’t worry about the last clause – the father of eight left the marrying/divorcing of a Kardashian to Bosa.

The Chargers football franchise has been making their rounds in LA announcing the teams move, but fans are still not having it. At a ceremony held Wednesday afternoon at The Forum in Inglewood, security had to escort a fan who was shouting obscenities at chairman Dean Spano’s during his speech. There were, however, still a handful of supportive fans in attendance.

  • After a 56-year run in San Diego, the Chargers now belong to Los Angeles. Here’s to hoping LA has at least one decent team.
